Dark stone fruit aromas with notes of caramel and coffee, full body with a slightly dry bitter finish

Named ’76 after the year of our revolution, this style was a favorite of George Washington himself. This classic style is different from it’s British counterpart, being slightly darker and having more perceived hop bitterness. We tried to lean more on the pre-prohibition timeline for this brew, using a German origin Northern Brewer variety of hops for the beginning of the boil and finishing with American Cascade Hops at the end of boil. This gives it a much lower IBU while still having enough hop balance and character to compliment its dark malty backbone.
